Located about 290 km southwest of Okinawa Main Island, the Miyako Islands are a beautiful island group centered around Miyako Island and composed of eight islands of various sizes.

Among them, several of the larger islands are connected to Miyako Island by bridges, including Ikema Island, Kurima Island, Irabu Island, and Shimoji Island, making it easy to explore multiple islands during your visit.

Because there are no large rivers flowing into the sea, the surrounding waters remain incredibly clear, and the beaches around the islands are considered some of the most beautiful in Okinawa Prefecture.

On the northern side of the island lies Yabiji, Japan’s largest coral reef, along with famous scenic spots such as Sunayama Beach and the well-known diving site Toriike (Twin Ponds).
