The Kerama Islands are an archipelago of more than 20 islands of various sizes scattered across the East China Sea, located about 40 km west of Naha City on Okinawa Main Island.
The surrounding waters are famous for their exceptional clarity, often referred to as “Kerama Blue.” This stunning ocean is one of the most popular spots in Okinawa for diving, snorkeling, and whale watching.
On March 5, 2014 (Coral Day), the Kerama Islands were officially designated as part of Keramashoto National Park, recognizing the area for its outstanding natural beauty and rich marine ecosystem.
